Hanging out with demons can be Hell…

It’s been three months since psychologist Megan Chase made the stunning discovery that the world is filled with demons, and once more the situation is too hot to handle. Ironically, Megan — the only person in the world without a little personal demon sitting on her shoulder — has become the leader of a demon “family,” but now some unknown arcane power is offing her demons in a particularly unpleasant fashion. And while her demon lover Greyson Dante is still driving her wild with desire, he’s also acting strangely evasive. Then there’s the truth about Megan’s past — the truth she’s never known. Caught between personal problems and personal demons, Megan is having one hell of a hard time. Will the help of her Cockney guard demons and her witch friend Tera be enough so that Megan can finally resolve the past, survive the present, and face the future?

Megan is still struggling to get used to being the head of her own Meegra [Demon ‘family’] and also wishing for a normal life. When her Yezers [personal demons] start being attacked by something—they desert Megan and go to some other Gretneg [head of the demon family.] Meanwhile, the ones remaining claim that they want a severe master. Something inside Megan begins to change. Greyson, her demon lover is not being completely honest as to what is it that is attacking the demons, and she finds out that there are other demons houses being threatened. Megan’s past comes back to haunt her and all hell breaks lose, but she gets the closure she wanted and also gets to understand what happened that made her what she is.

There is just so much to say about Demon Inside that it is impossible to keep it short, but I will try my best, promise. I read this book at work and in class as well. The build up is brilliant and the character development is amazing. It is fast paced and it does not drag or confuse the reader at any moment.

In this book we get to know more of Megan—her past; what happened once that is the reason as to why she is what and how she is. She is stronger now and keeps growing more and more into the pages. Also, we meet her family and other exciting new characters. And Greyson Dante is not behind; we get to enjoy his presence and sexiness. The bond between him and Meg even stronger now and still filled with the sexual tension, if not more of it.

Ms. Kane lets us into the demon world more openly now, with one of the most amazing scenes ever, a service for one of the demons and also a very important ritual soon afterward. The description was detailed yet not overwhelming. It flows smoothly, leaving place for the imagination, but giving us the most important details. The action is constant and the depiction of these scenes is so thorough and well done that leaves the reader breathless. Not too mention the oh-so-steamy and hot sex scenes.

I really did not think that it could get better than Personal Demons, but if this one was good—Demon Inside is certainly excellent. Our three demon bodyguards are still my favorites along with Roc, Megan’s Yezer assistant. I am now reading Demon Possessed and cannot wait to see what is going to happen.
